So as we all know netbooks don’t come with a built in optical drive, this is generally not a big problem in the days of USB keys and WiFi, but from time to time a DVD drive can be a very useful accessory.

So if you fancy recycling an old desktop drive you might have at home then one SammyNetbook.com forum member kindly shared his creativity over in this thread. This DVD drive was made for just £15 (that’s about $25).

As usual, these mods should only be attempted if you know what you are doing.
